Michael Parris, known as Michael Anthony, born on 4 October 1957 in Georgetown, Guyana, is a retired boxer who became Guyana's first ever Olympic medallist when he won a bronze medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.
Competing in the bantamweight (54 kg) division at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, Anthony earned a bronze medal — a historic achievement that remains one of Guyana's proudest sporting moments. To date, his is the only Olympic medal ever won by a Guyanese athlete.
