Phagwah is Guyana's national celebration of the Hindu festival of Holi, marking the triumph of good over evil. Brought to Guyana by Indian settlers in the 19th century, it is now a public holiday celebrated across all communities. The One Guyana Phagwah Festival at the National Stadium features chowtal singing, tassa drumming, and joyful colour throws.
